Don Epps, born August 29, 1946 in Denver Colorado, is an alumnus of the University of Colorado with a business degree and of Freedom University with a master’s degree in Christian education. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970, including a WESPAC tour of duty during the Vietnam War. Don is married to his wife Kathy and they have two sons: Michael and Brett who recently married Alison. Don cast his first republican vote in November 1968 via absentee ballot for Richard Nixon.
In 1973, Don moved to become Principal of the Altamonte Christian School. He served there until 1981, where upon he was employed for Lockheed Martin Corp, where he still works today as a Procurement Sr. Staff. Don is also an active member of his church, First Baptist Church of Central Florida.
While serving as Principal, Don became involved in the local and state Republican Party as a result of an HRS intrusion into the operation of Christian Schools and Day Cares. His first campaign was during the 1974 election cycle. He worked for Vince Fechtel, the Republican candidate for House District 34 and subsequent candidates including former Lieutenant Governor Bobby Brantley. Since that time the Republican principles of protecting traditional family values, more individual freedom and personal responsibility, less government and lower taxes have caused him to serve at all levels of the Republican party from Young Republicans to the Executive Committee. His goal in every campaign; whether local, state or national races, is to strive to elect the best people who reflect these Republican Values.
His servant’s heart and commitment to this Party is evident in every task that he undertakes. In addition to faithfully covering his assigned precinct, Don volunteers his time to assist in other precincts, help at the headquarters, put up signs, or anything else that needs to be done. Furthermore, he fulfills his duties and role of Chaplain, a responsibility that is not taken lightly.
If asked, Don would say that anything he has accomplished, is thru the strength and wisdom of the Good Lord, and the patience and longsuffering of his wife and family.
